Sandra Castilla wakes screaming, crying and terrified after a nightmare depicting in great detail the death of her sister, Jaycee. Having not spoken to her for a few months, Sandra's attempts to contact her sister after the disturbing dream fail. Safe, conservative Sandra leaves her unsupportive, skeptical boyfriend, and goes to Hollywood, Florida to find Jaycee. Believing her sister has been murdered, Sandra jumps in with both feet to find out what happened and seek vengeance on the murderer. Little does she know where her journey will lead her and what she will discover about her sister and about herself.
Once in Florida, Sandra discovers that Jaycee was training to be a Talean slave. Reeling from the shock that her sister was interested in the BDSM world and would want to be a slave to anyone, let alone a select and highly feared group like the Taleans, Sandra goes undercover to find out what happened to Jaycee. Here she first meets Nicco, and is instantly drawn to him. Suspecting everyone, but forced to trust a few, Sandra herself embarks on the training to become a Talean slave. Thus begins her journey into a world she can't understand but shakes her to her very core. Once her mission is complete, and vengeance is wrought, Sandra fears the price she will have to pay.
If you are looking for erotic heat, romance, murder, suspense.then you have definitely come to the right place. Slave Heart is all of that and more. It is an extraordinary look into the world of psychological D/s. It's a look into the mind of a woman discovering the world of a submissive. It's also a look into the mind of submissive women written by a practicing D/s Master and *gasp* .a man! Say what you will about men not understanding women but Master Nage knows women. And he knows the mind of a submissive. In Slave Heart we take a journey with Sandra, feeling what she feels, her conflicting emotions and her desire to understand a world that couldn't be more of a mystery. Why would an independent, modern woman willingly become a slave to anyone? As Sandra moves closer to finding the answer to that question and to finding the killer, the level of suspense is as intense as the level of emotions. Many scenes had me in tears, others on the edge of my seat and still others had me grabbing for the ice water and the toys. Master Nage can pen one powerfully erotic sex scene. Though there aren't as many sex scenes as I would have liked (as I would have liked tons) the ones that are here are searing and beyond orgasmic, clearly showing the bond between Master and slave. And I was a bit fearful that my eReader would burst into flames.
Slave Heart is a fascinating yet complex journey. This suspenseful tale is told in the first person. I never knew, just as Sandra never knew who the killer was. And just as she was shocked so was I. I feared for her life, applauded her triumph and shed tears with her for her ultimate fate. It is a different look at the world of D/s in that the dominance is all of the mind; no pain or bondage of any kind. Only a willing slave. If you have never tried a D/s story before, this is a good place to start. Slave Heart earns the Gold Star Award because it educates, entertains, and arouses me. Arousing my mind as well as my body and isn't that where it all begins, in the mind?

Master Nage has written a very suspenseful and well done book. The characters are very well developed and you feel the emotion and confusion of Sandra as she tries to adapt from an independent woman to a woman trained to be a slave. He also has a gift of portraying the feelings of the different characters. You understand their heartbreak and understand their joy. The love scenes are very erotic and hot. The only weakness is there are not enough of them for me in this book. Especially when Master Nage writes such blazing scenes. This book is about the passion that comes from a power exchange that does not involve bondage or pain. Master Nage captures the joy that comes from his character freeing her mind of her own control.
